You have several ways to filter files from a folder
comparison view, here are some of them:
by file name
You can include or exclude files and folders matching a
given name or regular expression.
by file status
You can filter out files when identical or different, or
when the are missing in the source/ancestor/target/result
hierarchy.
by file date
You can filter out files modified after or before a cutoff
date.

All of them are available in the Options Set dialog box in
the folder comparison options panels, in addition, various
buttons in the toolbar (from which the Status Filters and the
Edit name filters) let you edit folders filtering options
quickly.
