How to copy a folder overwritting only older files?

  1. Open a new Folder Comparison document (Ctrl-M). Set the 2-way Merge mode (swap between 2 and 3 way icon toggled off)
  2. Set the left source with the folder path you want to copy the files from
    Set the right source with the target path where you want to copy the files
  3. Select the items you want to copy (Ctrl-A to select all files and folders), right click in the left tree view, and select Copy...
  4. The "Generic Copy" dialog box is displayed.
  5. Check that the selected action is "Update".
  6. Uncheck all actions that do not correspond to your needs. You probably need to keep only the following ones:
    Folder Creations,
    File Creations,
    Overwriting older files,
    Plain text file recognitions and conversions (if you uncheck it, only binary copies will occur)
