We've been asked for an ActiveX version of Ellié Computing Merge several times and have implemented the ActiveX interface for Merge.
This component is expanded for our customers needs. Our pricing is based on the actual features that you need, not necessarily the full featured version. We use a licencing system which allows to select the features that you actually need and you pay for that. The licence can be extended later if you need.
Adding the interfaces for existing features of Merge can be as fast as a single week.
The ActiveX was tested in IE from 8 to 11, C# and VB.Net (samples provided) on XP/2003,Visa,7,8. It should work well with other ActiveX friendly softwares in 32 and 64 bits. It is architectured so that the comparison and generation engine is disconnected from User Interface so that it can be used inside command line or ASP-like engines.
The currently available features:
text differentiation or merge, show, edit. With syntax colouring and usual cut/copy/paste/undo/redo working
navigation in the differentiation
comparison statistics box
loading data from files or strings
translated in English, French, German and Spanish
resolution of the conflicts, saving results, generating reports
Basically, the ActiveX is full power: you can do almost everything that you can do in ECMerge graphical user interface.
